Made for desktop Macs

No Touch ID on your keyboard?
You still shouldn't type every time.

ShuKey never unlocks merely because you are nearby. Every unlock starts with an explicit action on a trusted device.

MAC MINI

The Mac is under your desk

Your standard keyboard has no Touch ID. Your phone tile or watch becomes the confirmation button you already carry.

FIXED DESK

One NFC tag on the desk

Place a tag at the edge of your desk. Touch it with an unlocked Android phone to start a signed request.

Three triggers, one secure protocol

Use whatever is already in reach.

01

Swipe down. Tap.

Pin a specific Mac to Android Quick Settings. No need to open the ShuKey app first.

Quick Tile
02

Touch an NFC tag

Your unlocked Android phone reads the tag you paired, then starts the unlock request.

NFC
03

Raise wrist. Confirm.

Choose your Mac and tap explicitly on Wear OS. It also works without the phone nearby.

Wear OS

Security is a protocol, not a promise

The request can travel.
Your Mac password never does.

Pairing establishes device identity. For every unlock, your Mac creates a one-time challenge; the phone or watch signs it with its device key, and your Mac verifies it locally before login.

  • 01
Password stays localYour login password remains in the Mac Keychain. It is never sent to a device or server.
  • 02
Every request is uniquePair ID, nonces from both sides, a monotonic counter and a short validity window resist replay.
  • 03
Only paired devices are trustedPairing exchanges and verifies device public keys. Unlock accepts valid signatures only from registered devices.
  • 04
Revoke a lost device immediatelyRemove any paired device on your Mac at any time. Future unlock requests from that device will be rejected.

Important limits

ShuKey cannot unlock FileVault, the first login after a Mac restart, or a logged-out user. The current Mac beta uses a long-lived self-signed certificate; first install requires trusting the ShuKey root certificate.
